Role Title: Java Backend Engineer Location: Sheffield Duration: Until 31/12/2026 Work setup: 3 days onsite/week Pay Rate: £380 per day all inc. (PAYE through Umbrella) Role Description: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.Develop and support Microservices-based architectures following industry best practices.Build RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.Develop asynchronous/event-driven solutions using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.Write unit, integration, and automation tests.Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, DevOps teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.Contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation.Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
