Junior UI Engineer

JHC Consulting is seeking a Junior UI Engineer to support our ongoing mandate with a major European institution. This is an entry level position for a professional who understands that a digital interface should serve the clarity of thought and the rigour of written argument. You will help build and refine the environments where our principals conduct their analysis and draft the memoranda that define our firm. This role is fully remote, allowing you to focus on your technical craft and visual logic from your own workspace while contributing to high level advisory work. The Role As a Junior UI Engineer, your primary focus is the presentation and structure of complex information. You will work on the internal platforms that host our reports, research, and advisory documents. This involves translating data into clear, readable formats and ensuring that the interface never distracts from the core argument. You will assist in drafting technical documentation and participate in the iterative process of refining how our work is delivered to board committees and chief executives. Your day to day work involves writing clean code, auditing accessibility, and ensuring that our digital presence mirrors the precision of our written counsel. Because we do not use traditional presentations, you will be responsible for building layouts that make long form reading a comfortable and intuitive experience for our clients. What You Bring We look for candidates who have a foundational understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript. While this is an entry level role, we value an eye for typography and a deep appreciation for the hierarchy of information. You should have a strong command of the English language, as every member of our firm is expected to contribute to our culture of clear writing. A background in design, computer science, or a related field through university projects or personal study is helpful, but we prioritize the ability to think logically and explain your technical choices. You need to be comfortable working independently in a remote setting and managing your own schedule to meet deadlines.
