Back end Software Engineer Remote – UK (Birmingham) £55,000 – £70,000 My client is looking for a hands-on Backend Software Engineer to join their technology team, working across backend development, APIs and integrations between a range of internal and third-party platforms. This is a varied engineering role with a strong focus on integration development, data flows and building reliable backend services, rather than frontend development. The role Build and maintain backend services and system integrationsDevelop and consume APIs and webhooksBuild reliable data flows between internal and third-party platformsWork with transactional data across multiple systemsDiagnose integration failures and production issuesImprove the reliability, scalability and maintainability of existing servicesWork closely with other technical teams to design and deliver new solutions What they're looking for Strong backend development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript / Node.js or similarHands-on experience building APIs, webhooks and third-party integrationsExperience working with data across multiple systemsComfortable taking technical requirements through to productionStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience working with business-critical or transactional systems Experience with ecommerce platforms, Shopify, NetSuite, ERP or WMS integrations would be beneficial but isn't essential.
