Junior Frontend Developer

We are adding a Junior Frontend Developer to our team to help build an internal operations dashboard for a Hamburg-based renewable energy firm. This client is currently managing their power grid data and field technician schedules through a series of complex spreadsheets that have become hard to maintain. You will help us turn that data into a clear, functional web interface that their team can use to monitor energy output and dispatch maintenance crews efficiently. The Role In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the user interfaces that our clients use every day. You will spend your time translating data from APIs into readable tables, charts, and forms. Since this is a fully remote position, a large part of your work involves documenting what you build and providing clear updates to the rest of the team. You will not just be writing code: you will be helping to organize how information is presented so that a warehouse manager or a grid technician can find what they need without confusion. This might mean refining a navigation menu one day and debugging a data entry form the next. We focus on building tools that work reliably, even if the work itself is not always flashy. What You Bring A solid grasp of the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The ability to write clear, readable code that a teammate can understand. A preference for simple solutions over complex or clever ones. Good organizational skills and the ability to manage your own schedule in a remote setting. An interest in how businesses operate and a desire to build tools that solve logical problems. A willingness to ask questions when you are stuck and a drive to learn how professional software is shipped. Comfort working on internal tools where utility and clarity are more important than visual flair. Helpful Background Basic experience with React or another modern JavaScript library through projects or coursework. Familiarity with version control tools like GitHub. An understanding of how to fetch data from an API and display it in a browser. Any experience working with databases like Postgres or basic backend logic in Node. A background or interest in sectors like renewable energy or logistics is useful but not required. Previous experience managing data, even if it was just building complex spreadsheets.
