Description

Front-End Engineer (React and TypeScript)| Remote-first (UK) | One day a week in the office, South West A world-leading, sports brand has just been backed by a major private equity firm, and it is using that moment to do something rare. It is taking a physical sport that millions of people already play and building the software that brings it online. Cameras and computer vision watch live play, then turn it into online matches, real-time stats and training tools. Real product. Live, engaged users. Instant feedback on everything you ship. You would join a small, cross-functional team and own the React and TypeScript apps behind the web and mobile experience. You will work shoulder to shoulder with a backend team (Go microservices on Kubernetes), and with the iOS, Android, DevOps, Computer Vision, Design and Product people who make the product what it is. This is a role for someone with strong commercial and consumer front-end experience who wants room to grow on a product people genuinely love using. What you'll do Build and maintain the front-end using React and TypeScriptCreate reusable UI components with ShadcnTurn designs into responsive, accessible interfacesWork with the backend team to integrate REST APIsRefine user stories with Product, and write automated testsShip to production, then monitor performance and quality once it's liveShare what you know through code reviews and pair programming What you'll bring 5+ years of commercial React experienceStrong TypeScriptShadcn, or deep experience with a component library like Radix or MUIComfort consuming REST APIsSolid HTML and CSS with a real eye for responsive designTest automation (Jest, React Testing Library or similar)A startup temperament: fast-changing priorities, freedom to shape the work, and a figure-it-out attitude Nice to have Capacitor (the app wrapper in use here), Swift, Kotlin, or any background in sport or gaming. Why this one You would sit at the front edge of technology in sport, with a high degree of autonomy and genuinely flexible hybrid working. You would also learn directly from a seasoned CTO and CPO, and from the technology investors backing the business.
