Senior Network Engineer

About We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the management, optimization, and security of the Bank’s network, server, and virtual infrastructure. The role is responsible for ensuring system stability, reliability, performance, and compliance with internal regulations and operational requirements. Responsibilities Manage and maintain the bank’s software, server, and network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, stability, reliability, and security.Participate in the design, development, and implementation of scalable and resilient network infrastructure.Monitor and optimize network performance, traffic flows, and load distribution.Design, implement, and manage virtualized and containerized environments.Automate software deployment, system updates, configuration, and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Analyze incidents and technical issues, identify root causes, and implement preventive and corrective measures.Optimize infrastructure and system performance, conduct capacity planning, and ensure scalability in line with business and operational requirements.Manage security updates and infrastructure patching, assess vulnerabilities, and support remediation activities.Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity and data availability.Continuously monitor infrastructure health and performance using monitoring, logging, and observability tools.Identify opportunities for operational automation and implement solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and consistency.Develop and manage initiatives aimed at improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, regulations, decisions, and other applicable requirements established by the bank’s governing bodies.Ensure the proper maintenance and safekeeping of departmental assets and equipment and perform relevant administrative and property-related responsibilities.Provide technical mentoring and knowledge sharing to members of the department.Perform other duties related to the objectives of the position as assigned by the direct manager. Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in network engineering, infrastructure administration, or a related role.Strong knowledge of enterprise network architecture, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security.Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies and network troubleshooting.Experience designing and managing highly available and scalable infrastructure environments.Strong understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, and/or Kubernetes.Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.Practical knowledge of infrastructure and network monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.Experience with scripting and automation using tools or languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar.Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated deployment and configuration management processes.Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience practices.Experience with vulnerability management, security hardening, patch management, and infrastructure security best practices.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex infrastructure issues.Ability to work with multiple technical teams and effectively communicate complex technical concepts.Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and attention to detail.Ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to the continuous development of the team.Experience working in a banking or other highly regulated environment will be considered an advantage.Knowledge of applicable information security, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements is an advantage.Proficiency in Armenian and English; knowledge of Russian is an advantage.
