Business Unit Overview
Our Operations unit is the engine room of Superloop - responsible for maintaining and supporting all of our products and internal technical infrastructure to ensure the best possible service to both our customers and our very own business.
Our Operations unit is responsible for ensuring that the business has the technical capability and capacity to deliver services to all Superloop customers ranging from Home Broadband to International Wholesale.
Role Purpose
The Senior Network Engineer is the technical owner and primary subject matter expert for Superloop’s corporate IT network environment.
This is an enterprise/corporate IT networking role and does not have responsibility for Superloop’s carrier, telecommunications, backbone, access, or customer-facing network infrastructure.
Working within the Corporate IT Infrastructure team, the Senior Network Engineer is the only dedicated network engineering specialist in the IT Infrastructure team and is accountable for the architecture, implementation, operation, security, support, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of Superloop’s corporate network services.
The role has end-to-end technical accountability across corporate office networking, LAN/WAN connectivity, corporate datacentre connectivity, cloud networking, wireless infrastructure, remote-access connectivity, and associated network security technologies supporting Superloop offices, corporate systems, datacentres, and cloud environments across multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the networking subject matter expert within the Infrastructure team, providing technical leadership, design guidance, and best-practice standards across the network estate.Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple offices, countries, and datacentres.Develop and maintain network standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and configuration baselines.Lead network upgrades, migrations, technology refresh initiatives, and complex infrastructure projects.Manage and support core datacentre networking environments using Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto technologies.Support high-availability routing, switching, storage networking, and disaster recovery connectivity requirements.Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient SD-WAN solutions using Palo Alto technologies.Manage domestic and international WAN connectivity, carrier relationships, and service provider engagements.Configure, optimise, and troubleshoot complex routing environments.Design and support secure connectivity between AWS and corporate network environments, including Direct Connect, VPN, and hybrid cloud solutions.Deploy, manage, and support network security platforms, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and pfSense firewalls.Support enterprise wireless networking solutions using Meraki and Ruckus platforms.Manage network authentication services, including Microsoft NPS, RADIUS, and 802.1X access control solutions.Promote knowledge sharing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the team’s overall networking capability and reduce reliance on individual subject matter experts.Perform proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimisation, and root cause analysis.Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, support procedures, and technical standards.Participate in after-hours support, maintenance activities, and on-call rotations as required.
Qualifications And Experience
7+ years’ experience supporting enterprise networks across multiple sites and countries.Strong Cisco and Juniper networking experience in corporate and datacentre environments.Proven expertise with routing and switching technologies, particularly BGP, OSPF, and advanced Layer 2/Layer 3 networking.Experience supporting storage networking and datacentre infrastructure.Hands-on experience with SD-WAN solutions.Strong wireless networking experience using Meraki and Ruckus platforms.Experience managing RADIUS authentication services, including Microsoft NPS and 802.1X.Extensive firewall administration experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, and pfSense.Strong understanding of network security, resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery principles.Excellent troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.Strong documentation, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management skills.
Desirable Skills
Enterprise, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent certifications.Experience with network automation tools and scripting.Experience with Infrastructure as Code and network programmability.Exposure to ZTNA and SASE architectures.Experience within telecommunications, managed services, or large enterprise environments.
