📍 Canberra | Onsite 📅 12 Month Federal Government Contract + 2 x 12 Month Extension Options NV1 Security Clearance Required Bridge IT Engineering is partnering with a major Federal Government client seeking multiple Senior Azure Java Stack Software Engineers (Developers) to support a mission-critical national intelligence platform. About the Role This is a senior, hands-on Full Stack Java Engineering opportunity focused on designing, developing, enhancing and supporting enterprise-scale applications and large data platforms. Working within a highly technical delivery environment, you will contribute across backend services, APIs, integrations, distributed systems and modern web applications, with a strong backend focus. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, solution ownership and the opportunity to work on complex systems supporting national law enforcement and intelligence capabilities. Key Responsibilities Full Stack Java Development Design, develop, test, deploy and support secure, scalable and highly available Java applications.Develop backend services, APIs, microservices and enterprise integrations.Contribute across the full technology stack, with a particular focus on backend engineering.Take ownership of technical solutions from requirements through to deployment and production support. Architecture & Integration Design and implement scalable microservices, event-driven architectures and distributed systems.Develop solutions across enterprise data and integration platforms.Work with REST and GraphQL APIs, messaging platforms and high-volume data environments.Contribute to technical design and architecture across complex enterprise solutions. Cloud, DevOps & Engineering Work within a Microsoft Azure-hosted enterprise environment.Apply modern CI/CD, automated testing and DevSecOps practices.Support release and deployment automation.Work with containerisation, cloud-native technologies and Infrastructure as Code.Contribute to the reliability, security, resilience and maintainability of the platform. Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance and leadership across projects and development teams.Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews and knowledge sharing.Guide technical and architectural decisions.Troubleshoot complex production issues and undertake root-cause analysis.Drive engineering standards, continuous improvement and technical capability uplift.
