Yes Position Summary Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Software Engineer to play a critical role supporting a mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the DoD and IC enterprise. The role involves integrating off-the-shelf and newly developed software to sustain and enhance the TCPED platform, leveraging cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cross-domain transfer systems to provide advanced data exploitation and analytics capabilities. The position requires working closely with a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment, primarily on-site in Bethesda, MD, with a flexible schedule and occasional remote tasks. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Lead a DevOps team responsible for design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack containerized microservices architecture. Perform technical systems administration, installation, and configuration. Foster a DevOps culture and build strong cross-functional collaboration with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams. Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline using Kubernetes, Elasticsearch backend, and Kafka messaging. Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes for faster development and resilient deployments. Design, develop, and support scalable, redundant infrastructure including physical and virtualized environments. Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments to support new feature requirements. Collaborate with System Engineers to design solutions for new features and requirements. Provide technical input to systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models. Own and prioritize the Agile team backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and clear actionable requirements. Support SAFe Program Increment planning and execution, including managing work items and project documentation. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives. Monitor sprint and program progress, resolving dependencies, risks, and impediments. Review and accept completed work to ensure it meets business requirements and quality standards. Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and leadership to communicate priorities, progress, and product goals. Required Qualifications BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 12+ years in software development, system engineering or related field; 10+ years of experience with Master's degree. Current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II (or higher) certification, such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, CCNA Security, or CISSP (or Associate). Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification. Experience with container/container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes, including troubleshooting Ingress/Gateway API, Helm chart design/build, Pod disruption budgets, Affinity/anti-affinity rules, and familiarity with external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, eck (Elasticsearch). GitLab pipeline development experience including integration of GitLab CI/CD components, Code Quality reports, and Code Coverage/Test reports. Knowledgeable in navigating Linux OS, specifically sysctls for Kubernetes environments, FApolicyd, and SELinux experience. Comfortable with Elastic Search, Logstash, and Kibana. Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile software development team with ability to break down complex problems, manage and prioritize product backlogs, strong understanding of Agile methodologies, and experience facilitating scrum ceremonies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical and non-technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and project management teams. Demonstrated ability to manage expectations and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with development languages such as Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java. Experience on a production/enterprise system. Experience with Kafka or other message passing systems (AMQP, JMS), Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, GPU-based Kubernetes, SALT for deployment automation, and Nexus. Required Education and Experience Equivalency BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with 12+ years in software development, system engineering or related field. Master's degree with 10+ years of experience.
