Software Engineer - Security Remediation

About the Role We are seeking a Software Engineer – Security Remediation to support a large-scale security remediation initiative within a Machine Vision product portfolio. This role is focused on hands-on remediation of software security findings, including vulnerability fixes, dependency upgrades, static analysis findings, secrets management, and container security improvements. The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who can quickly navigate unfamiliar codebases, accurately assess security findings, and implement sustainable fixes while maintaining engineering quality standards. Key Responsibilities Remediate software security findings across multiple applications and services.Perform dependency upgrades and resolve vulnerabilities identified through SAST, SCA, and secrets-scanning tools.Update container base images and address software supply-chain risks.Fix vulnerabilities directly within application code and validate successful remediation.Differentiate legitimate security findings from false positives and document findings appropriately.Prioritize remediation efforts based on exploitability and business impact.Collaborate with internal engineering teams when product-specific or safety-critical expertise is required.Ensure all changes meet established CI/CD, code-signing, and security compliance requirements.Track remediation progress and provide regular status updates. Required Qualifications 4+ years of professional software development experience.Strong ability to understand, analyze, and modify unfamiliar codebases.Hands-on experience remediating software security vulnerabilities.Experience with SAST, SCA, secrets-scanning tools, and dependency/package management.Proficiency in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.Experience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.Solid understanding of common software vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Prior Application Security (AppSec) or Security Remediation experience.Experience with Machine Vision, Imaging, Robotics, Embedded Systems, or Firmware products.Exposure to SBOMs, code signing, container security, hardened container images, and software supply-chain security.
