Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer (WordPress & PHP) to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ.
This is an on-site, full-time opportunity for a hands-on developer who can take ownership of WordPress development and help build the company's web development function from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, custom themes/plugins, API integrations, and VPS server management.
This person should be comfortable working independently, interacting with clients, managing multiple projects, and establishing development processes and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
Build custom PHP functionality and integrate third-party APIs.
Work directly with clients to gather requirements, define project scope, and conduct demos.
Manage website deployments and VPS hosting environments.
Configure and maintain hosting environments for performance, reliability, and security.
Troubleshoot WordPress, PHP, database, hosting, and website performance issues.
Optimize websites for SEO, Core Web Vitals, speed, and user experience.
Implement website security best practices, including SSL, firewalls, and malware prevention.
Manage project timelines, content collection, approvals, testing, and go-live activities.
Work closely with marketing, design, and paid media teams.
Establish development processes, standards, and best practices for a growing web development function.
Provide ongoing website maintenance, debugging, updates, and performance improvements.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of professional PHP and WordPress development experience; 5+ years preferred.
Strong experience developing and customizing WordPress websites.
Experience creating custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Strong proficiency in:

Experience with API integrations and REST APIs.
