Description

Role Summary A DevSecOps Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure within a remote environment. This mid to senior-level position focuses on automating deployments, ensuring system security and performance, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance development and operational workflows. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support modernization efforts for federal healthcare systems. Responsibilities Design and build scalable, highly available AWS infrastructure solutions using native services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB/ALB, and EKS. Provision and manage cloud resources through the AWS Console, CLI, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Implement security best practices including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation to ensure compliance with organizational and federal regulations. Develop and maintain automation workflows for infrastructure provisioning and deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Monitor system performance, availability, and costs; proactively troubleshoot and resolve incidents to optimize cloud environments. Enable Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes using tools such as GitHub Actions to streamline application deployment. Support containerized workloads managed with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), minimizing downtime during releases. Collaborate with development teams to translate application requirements into effective AWS infrastructure solutions. Utilize AI-assisted tools to accelerate scripting, automation, and troubleshooting, ensuring security, correctness, and compliance of AI-generated configurations. Promote responsible AI practices within the team, including reviewing AI outputs and establishing standards for AI use in infrastructure management. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles. Proven expertise with core AWS services including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security. Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks. Strong understanding of the AWS shared responsibility model and cloud security best practices. Experience with networking concepts including subnetting, routing, load balancing, and VPN setup. Working knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools, particularly GitHub Actions. Practical experience using AI tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar to improve automation workflows. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex AWS and pipeline issues. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across technical teams. Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty Certifications. Proven experience managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS). Prior work in a federally regulated environment such as healthcare or government agencies. Experience working on healthcare technology modernization projects and federal healthcare systems. Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $55.00 Hourly This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
