What you will do
The Veeam Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, monitoring, and support of the organization's backup and recovery infrastructure using Veeam technologies.
The role ensures the availability, integrity, recoverability, and security of enterprise data while supporting business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Backup & Recovery AdministrationAdminister Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure.Configure and manage backup jobs, backup copy jobs, and replication jobs.Create and maintain backup retention policies.Perform backup restores for servers, databases, applications, virtual machines, and Microsoft 365 workloads.Validate backup success and recovery readiness through regular testing.Disaster Recovery & Business ContinuityDevelop and maintain disaster recovery procedures.Execute DR testing and recovery exercises.Support recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO) requirements.Maintain documentation for recovery processes.Infrastructure ManagementManage backup repositories, proxies, mount servers, and backup storage.Monitor backup capacity and growth trends.Optimize backup performance and storage utilization.Integrate backup solutions with VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS, or Microsoft 365 environments.Monitoring & Incident ManagementMonitor backup jobs and infrastructure health.Investigate and resolve failed backups and restore issues.Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents.Work with server, storage, network, and security teams to resolve issues.Security & ComplianceImplement RBAC and least-privilege access controls.Manage backup encryption and multi-factor authentication.Support immutable backup and ransomware protection strategies.Maintain audit logs and compliance evidence.Participate in security reviews and risk assessments.Documentation & GovernanceMaintain operational documentation and runbooks.Develop backup standards and operational procedures.Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.Participate in change management and CAB processes.
