Automation Test Engineer

Role Overview The primary objective of this position is to design and develop tools, frameworks and infrastructure for automated testing, as well as automated test suites built on top of them, ensuring the quality of CQG products. We are looking for an engineer who enjoys software development, troubleshooting complex issues, investigating root causes, validating hypotheses and identifying patterns. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain Python-based testing infrastructure, frameworks and tools. Design and implement scalable, maintainable automated testing solutions, including solutions for performance testing. Improve reliability and performance and of testing infrastructure. Review, refactor and improve existing Python codebase. Analyze performance test results, perform investigation of degradations and improvements. Analyze automated test results, reproduce and report defects in both the testing framework and the product under test. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering discipline. 2+ years of hands-on development experience to include:Strong software development experience in Python: OOP, concurrency, performance optimizations, debugging, modules/packages. Experience in technical design of code according to requirements and goals (decompose solution to classes/modules, choose appropriate data structures etc.). Experience with any testing framework (pytest, uninttest). Knowledge of networks and network protocols. Experience with network programming in Python (socket, websocket, asyncio). Experience in C# is a plus. 2+ years of hands-on testing experience to include:A strong working knowledge of testing backend and client/server applications. Ability to develop and implement test plans and test cases. Experience in performance testing is a plus. Experience designing and developing automated testing frameworks and tools. Experience with version control systems (Git). Experience with bug tracking systems (Jira). Skills And Abilities Excellent memory and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to clearly and concisely articulate problems and explain exactly how to reproduce them. Good problem solving and analytical skills. Interpersonal and organizational skills. Extreme attention to details. Ability to meet tight deadlines and overcome challenges. Futures/Commodities/Stock Market Knowledge, trading experience very helpful. Excellent team work skills, Willingness to learn new industry, product or technical knowledge. Excellent knowledge of English.
