We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to collaborate on the design, automation, and management of our cloud-based infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with our engineering teams to streamline software compilation, delivery, and operational processes—ensuring a secure, scalable, and reliable environment that supports millions of transactions per day. Responsibilities Automate and manage cloud environments, with a primary focus on AWS. Lead the International DevOps team by setting priorities, coaching engineers, and aligning delivery practices with product and engineering goals. Design, deploy, and maintain systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring. Manage CI/CD pipelines and optimize release engineering workflows. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and system issues across environments. Be part of the on-call rotation for infrastructure alerts and escalations. Design and enforce Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) strategies using cloud-native services. Implement system hardening and security configurations across services and operating systems. Maintain and evolve infrastructure-as-code practices, automating operational processes. Continuously assess and improve systems performance, scalability, and security. Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing, and team development. Requirements Proven experience building, deploying, and operating highly scalable infrastructure in a security-conscious cloud environment. Experience supporting Tier 1 financial institutions with high transaction volumes is a strong plus. This is a remote position but does require you to work on East Coast hours. 3–5+ years in a senior or lead capacity (mentoring, owning delivery, setting standards)Expertise using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket pipeline, Jenkins, Spinnaker) in distributed environments. Expertise in Kubernetes (preferably CKA certified) for service orchestration and deployment. Strong scripting or programming skills in tools such as Terraform, Python, Bash, or YAML. Hands-on experience with AWS services. Proficiency with source control systems like Bitbucket or GitHub and tools such as Jira and Confluence. Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog). Solid understanding of DevSecOps, including implementation of "shift-left security" and integration of security scanners into CI/CD pipelines. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Highly self-motivated and directed. Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment. Able to work with different cultures and communicate with international teams.
