A specialized engineering team is seeking a C++ developer to build and optimize high-performance systems. The role involves latency reduction, large-scale data processing, and advanced software architecture.
Highlights
High-impact engineering role focused on ultra-low latency systems, performance optimization, and challenging technical problems.
Description
C++ Engineer | Vilnius, Lithuania (On-site) | €100,000–€200,000
TechShack are working with a fast-growing high-frequency trading firm building low-latency trading systems where every microsecond counts.
They are a small team expecting to double in the next year, they trade HFT market making and arbitrage across the largest crypto venues, and are now moving into traditional markets.
You'll join their engineering team with genuine ownership of the core trading stack.
What you'll work on:
Optimising the live trading system at the microsecond level, improving execution latency across the hot path where it directly affects performance.Migrating the most latency-sensitive parts of the existing C# system into C++, making architectural calls on how that rewrite is shaped.Building a new backtesting engine from the ground up, a system capable of processing very large volumes of historical data at speed and simulating trading logic across historical periods.Working on throughput, scale and efficiency: parallelism, memory management, profiling and removing bottlenecks under heavy load.Collaborating directly with traders to turn trading ideas into robust production infrastructure.Core requirements:
Strong hands-on C++ or C# in genuinely performance-critical environments.Either a proven low-latency optimisation background, or demonstrable experience handling large-scale data and building efficient, scalable systems.A track record of contributing something first-hand, big system ownership or measurable performance work.Based in or willing to relocate to Lithuania.
This is an on-site role.Deep understanding of:
Performance profiling, memory management and concurrency in production systems.Latency and throughput constraints in real-world systems.Writing code where efficiency is a hard requirement rather than a nice-to-have.Bonus requirements:
Trading systems experience, crypto or traditional finance, either is relevant.HFT market making or arbitrage exposure.Experience at single-digit microsecond latency.Background in large-scale data processing, simulation or backtesting infrastructure.
Strong, ambitious Engineers earlier in their careers will also be considered, they're happy to train up the right person.
