About the job This role is being recruited by CoffeeSpace on behalf of an anonymous startup focused on developing highly automated, remote air traffic control towers to modernize ATC for the 90% of airports that currently lack a tower. Founded by alumni from Tesla and SpaceX, the team is working on real-time, safety-critical systems with a focus on perception, state estimation, and automation. The company is small, with a team size of 3, and has secured $6 million in funding. Their first product is a remote ATC tower, addressing a significant market opportunity in the aviation industry. About the role As a Software Engineer, you will be integral to developing the core software for remote ATC towers. Your work will involve: Building systems for perception, state estimation, and automation that process sensor data in real time.Developing streaming data pipelines and making tradeoffs around latency, reliability, and safety.Creating controller-facing interfaces for remote airport traffic management.Collaborating across hardware, RF, and mechanical domains. What You’ll Do Ship production systems using C++/Python or similar languages.Work across the stack in real-time systems, embedded, or safety-critical software.Engage in cross-disciplinary projects involving perception, automation, and streaming data.
