Junior UI Engineer

A Birmingham-based insurance firm is currently dealing with significant operational drag caused by disjointed internal tools. Their claims adjusters and brokers are losing time because the user interfaces they use every day do not communicate clearly with the backend logic. As a Junior UI Engineer, you will join our team to help bridge these gaps. This role is focused on the practical side of front-end development: fixing the layout errors, inconsistent form fields, and broken navigation paths that slow people down. You will work to ensure that the visual layer of the software actually supports the work being done, rather than creating new workarounds. This is a full-time, fully remote position. About Tech Pipeline We solve the friction that stops companies from functioning efficiently. We target broken approval chains and manual reconciliations. Our work happens at the seams where different systems fail to connect. We do not use abstract frameworks or delivery decks: we fix the code and the configurations. We build runbooks and update SOPs so that our fixes are permanent. We stay through the cutover period to ensure everything works in a live setting. We leave as soon as the client is able to maintain the system without our help. What You Will Do Review existing front-end code to identify where UI components are failing to sync with backend data. Clean up CSS and layout structures to ensure internal tools are usable and clear. Audit internal forms to prevent stale data from entering the system. Monitor console logs and error reports to find where users are getting stuck in the interface. Write and update technical documentation for every UI change you implement. Test UI routing rules to make sure the user flow matches the intended business process. Assist in the manual reconciliation of UI elements across different legacy platforms. Help map out how data moves from a user input to the central database. What You Bring A foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A healthy curiosity about why software breaks and how to make it more reliable. The ability to write clearly in plain English without using jargon. Interest in learning how large-scale insurance systems handle data and user permissions. A preference for finishing specific tasks over starting broad, undefined projects. Comfort working in a fully remote environment where clear communication is essential. An eye for detail that helps you spot where an interface does not match the underlying SOP.
