The Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering business-critical software across the full development lifecycle, working within an Agile, cross-functional engineering team. You will work closely with Architects and Principal Engineers to design and deliver scalable, resilient solutions, taking ownership of key features from design through to release. This role suits an experienced, delivery-focused engineer who is comfortable balancing hands-on technical delivery with mentoring and driving best practice across the team. You will also help shape how the team adopts AI-enabled development tools within a strong governance framework, keeping code quality and delivery velocity high. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Architects and Principal Engineers to design solutions aligned with the wider IT strategyOwn the design, development and delivery of key features end-to-endPartner with QA to embed robust testing practices and maintain defect-free deliveryChampion engineering best practice, including unit testing, code reviews and maintainable designApply AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and code quality within enterprise risk frameworksEvaluate and adopt new technologies, tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvementDesign solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements, including performance and scalabilityMentor junior engineers and support a collaborative, high-performing team cultureCommunicate progress, risks and dependencies proactively, escalating early where needed What You'll Need Essential: 5+ years' experience as a Senior Software Engineer in a complex, delivery-focused environmentStrong expertise in .NET (C#) across modern .NET Framework and .NET CoreProven experience building distributed, real-time systems and scalable componentsSolid relational database experience (e.g. MS SQL Server, MySQL), including schema design and optimisationProficiency in WPF application developmentHands-on experience with event-driven and asynchronous messaging architecturesExperience with cloud platforms, preferably AWSStrong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub/GitLab)Working knowledge of Agile methodologies across geographically distributed teams Desirable / Nice to Have: Experience within financial services or trading platformsKnowledge of the FIX protocolExposure to Java and/or JavaScript Why Apply?
