Description

About Origin Origin (previously 10xConstruction) is building general-purpose autonomous robots for US construction to tackle rising costs, safety risks, and labour shortages. Our modular, multi-trade platform combines purpose-built hardware with real-time site intelligence to navigate complex environments and execute tasks with precision. Trained in high-fidelity simulation and already deployed on live sites, our robots deliver faster execution, stronger project economics, and meaningful cost savings. Join India's talent-dense robotics team, with colleagues from IITs, Stanford, UCLA, and other leading institutions. About The Role As Deployment Ops Engineer, you will be Origin's hands-on technical owner at customer construction sites. You will prepare, commission, operate, troubleshoot, and improve autonomous robot deployments while ensuring safe, reliable delivery of customer outcomes. You will connect the field with product and engineering teams, turning every deployment issue and site observation into a faster, more robust robot platform. Key responsibilities Lead site readiness, mobilisation, commissioning, calibration, acceptance testing, and day-to-day technical operation of deployed robots Diagnose mechanical, electrical, embedded, networking, perception, and software issues using logs, measurements, controlled tests, and structured escalation Perform safe maintenance, component replacement, configuration changes, and recovery procedures in the field Coordinate with customers, contractors, operators, safety teams, and Origin engineering to keep deployments productive Train site users, document operating procedures, and maintain clear shift, issue, and maintenance records Capture field data, recurring failure modes, workflow constraints, and customer feedback; drive closure with product owners Track availability, utilisation, task completion, intervention rate, and service performance Build repeatable deployment and support playbooks as Origin expands across the depolyment sites Requirements Required qualifications and skills 3+ years in field engineering, robotics deployment, industrial automation, commissioning, service engineering, construction technology, or similar hands-on operations Strong troubleshooting across electromechanical systems, sensors, compute, networks, and software interfaces Ability to read technical documentation, use diagnostic tools, and communicate evidence clearly to remote engineering teams High ownership, calm execution under pressure, and a customer-oriented approach Ability to work safely on active construction sites, lift and handle field equipment, and adapt to site schedules Ability to work in the United States and travel frequently to customer locations Preferred Experience Autonomous robots, mobile robots, heavy equipment, industrial controls, ROS, Linux, CAN, or field-service systems Construction-site safety training and experience working with contractors or skilled trades Experience supporting pilot deployments and improving products from field data
