Job Description 5 - 10 years of experience of hands-on software engineering experience. Work experience Experience at a VC-backed startup or big tech company with a strong engineering culture.Experience as a founder, founding engineer, or head of engineering.Fintech, payments, or financial data experience (neobanks, payment infra, financial API integrations). Education CS degree or equivalent technical field, preferably from a top CS Program. Hard skills Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Next.js.Active experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, etc.) in their engineering workflow.Full-stack capability, leaning 60% frontend / 40% backend.Financial API or integration experience. Soft skills Highly autonomous — works without hand-holding or specs.Genuine curiosity about Synthetic's mission and product. Miscellaneous Based in SF or willing to relocate (6 days/week)
