Role: Java Developer Daily Rate: $900 - $1000 incl. Super Contract Length: Initial contract to 30/06/27 + 12-month extension Location: Canberra/WFH Flex NV1 Clearance Required. Strong Java / Java EE enterprise development experience essential. An established Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a high-profile technology environment supporting critical, enterprise-scale applications. This is a hands-on development role suited to someone with strong experience across Java / Java EE, enterprise application development, system enhancements, upgrades and production support. Key Responsibilities Designing, developing and maintaining robust, scalable enterprise applications using Java and Java EEEnhancing and improving existing software platforms in line with business and technical requirementsUndertaking software upgrades, application enhancements and remediationInvestigating and resolving complex application and production issuesTesting and validating application changes to ensure reliable outcomesReviewing and improving existing code to increase efficiency, performance and maintainabilityProducing high-quality technical and solution documentationWorking collaboratively with developers, technical teams and business stakeholdersSupporting and mentoring less experienced developersContributing to project reporting, technical governance and delivery planningOperating effectively within structured security, legislative and governance frameworksAbout You Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java / Java EEExperience maintaining and enhancing complex, business-critical applicationsStrong experience with software version upgrades and application modernisationDemonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilityExperience delivering development outcomes within agreed timelines and prioritiesStrong technical documentation skillsExcellent stakeholder communication skillsExperience mentoring or supporting junior developersPrevious experience within Federal Government, Defence, financial services or another highly regulated environment will be highly regardedRelevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related disciplineIf you are an experienced Java Developer with strong enterprise application experience and an active NV1 clearance, APPLY NOW for a confidential discussion.
