*Official Title- Data & Integrations Application Specialist People Architects is partnering with a fast-growing business-services organization, but this position is embedded with and supports the client's optical manufacturing/laboratory operations. Our client is seeking an Application & Data Integration Specialist to support its optical manufacturing and laboratory operations, primarily at its Phoenix and Pittsburgh facilities. This newly created role will work closely with manufacturing and laboratory teams to develop and improve technology solutions that support day-to-day operations, data visibility, automation, and process efficiency. Approximately 80% of the role will be hands-on development, with the remaining focus on understanding business needs, troubleshooting, and supporting operational technology. Responsibilities Application Development & Business Solutions Develop, enhance, and maintain applications and tools using C#/.NETWork with existing and legacy code to troubleshoot, improve, and extend current applicationsPartner directly with business and operations users to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutionsParticipate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and supportBuild solutions that improve operational efficiency, data visibility, accuracy, and automationDevelop and maintain scripts and automated workflows that reduce manual effort and improve data processing and synchronization Data, SQL & Reporting Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions using Microsoft SQL ServerExtract, transform, validate, and analyze data from DVI and related systemsDevelop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations for business and operational teamsReconcile information across multiple systems and improve data integrity and reporting accuracyWork with relational databases and understand underlying data structures and relationshipsTranslate operational data into useful information that supports business decisions Systems Integration & Automation Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between DVI and external applications and systemsWork with REST APIs, data exchanges, and integration technologiesProcess and transform structured data including JSON, XML, CSV, and flat filesDevelop scripts using languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, VBScript, or shell scriptingSupport automated file exchanges, data synchronization, and other integration processesPotentially contribute to broader technology initiatives involving Snowflake, APIs, and other enterprise systems DVI & Application Support Learn and support DVI, the primary laboratory management platform used by the client's optical laboratoriesMaintain and improve DVI configurations, pricing tables, product catalogs, translation tables, and related processesTroubleshoot application and data issues and coordinate solutions with vendors and internal stakeholdersDocument system configurations, workflows, technical solutions, and operational proceduresProvide functional and technical support as needed AI-Assisted Development & Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve existing applications, workflows, reporting, and operational processesLeverage AI tools throughout the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, code generation, documentation, testing, and quality assuranceReview, understand, and validate AI-generated code to ensure solutions are technically sound, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business requirementsIdentify opportunities where AI and emerging technologies can improve development productivity and operational efficiencyEvaluate and implement technologies that support business objectivesPerform other related duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Technical skills 5+ years of experience in application development, software development, systems integration, or a related technical fieldStrong hands-on experience with C#/.NETStrong SQL and relational database experience, preferably with Microsoft SQL ServerExperience working with existing or legacy applications and codebasesExperience with software development lifecycle practices, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshootingExperience with scripting, data extraction, transformation, and system integrationWorking knowledge of REST APIs and data integration conceptsExperience processing structured data such as JSON, XML, CSV, and flat filesExperience troubleshooting application, data, and integration issuesAbility to work directly with technical and non-technical users to understand business requirements and develop practical solutionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Scripting & Data Experience developing and maintaining scripts using one or more scripting languages such as: PythonPowerShellJavaScriptVBScriptShell scripting Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
