Description
Company Description Vaxx Research is focused on solving North America’s critical national security and energy vulnerabilities stemming from reliance on foreign supply chains for Critical Minerals and Materials (CMM).
Traditional domestic extraction methods are often prohibitively expensive, slow, and environmentally damaging.
To address this challenge, Vaxx Research is developing a paradigm-shifting approach that eliminates conventional mechanical mining and chemical refinement.
The company integrates generative AI, synthetic biology, and autonomous robotics to create more efficient, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
Team members have the opportunity to contribute to technology with significant economic, environmental, and strategic impact.
Role Description The Front and Back End Coder is a full-time, hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with some flexibility for work from home.
This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining both front-end user interfaces and back-end services that support Vaxx Research’s AI, robotics, and data platforms.
Day-to-day tasks include developing responsive web applications, building and optimizing APIs, integrating data pipelines, and ensuring secure, reliable communication between software components and hardware systems.
The coder will collaborate closely with AI scientists, robotics engineers, and synthetic biology teams to translate complex workflows into intuitive digital tools.
Additional responsibilities include debugging and performance tuning, contributing to code reviews, maintaining documentation, and participating in iterative product development.
Qualifications
Front-end development skills, such as proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI/UX implementation.Back-end development skills, including experience with server-side languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, or Go), RESTful or GraphQL API design, and integration with databases.Database and data handling skills, such as working with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization for data-intensive applications.Software engineering and DevOps skills, including version control (Git), unit and integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, and basic cloud infrastructure experience (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).Security and reliability skills, such as implementing authentication/authorization, secure data handling practices, and monitoring/logging for production systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; experience in AI, robotics, or scientific/industrial software is a plus.Interest in national security, sustainable resource extraction, and emerging technologies, along with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.
