Description

An innovative organisation in the defence and national security space is looking for a Backend Engineer. The successful candidate will help build the core services behind a next-generation intelligence platform, developing secure and scalable microservices that support mission-critical operational workflows. What You'll Be Doing Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.Build secure RESTful APIs supporting workflow, metadata, and document management.Design and develop scalable persistence layers using SQL and NoSQL databases.Contribute to cloud-native deployments, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.Implement secure coding practices, logging, monitoring, and audit capabilities. What We're Looking For Proven software development experience within defence, national security, or similarly secure environments.Strong commercial Java development experience with expertise in Spring Boot.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.Active DV Security Clearance is mandatory for this position.Legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom and able to work on-site four days per week. What's On Offer Salary: 500- 540 per day Outside IR35Opportunity to work on high-impact national security programmes.Collaborative environment within a multidisciplinary engineering team.Exposure to modern cloud-native and AI-enabled technologies.Long-term contract engagement in a mission-critical sector.
