About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team at Thüringer Aufbaubank. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and automating our web infrastructure to ensure seamless operation, security, and scalability. As a key member of the development team, you will work closely with software developers and system administrators to implement DevOps best practices, streamline deployment processes, and enhance our continuous integration and delivery pipelines. Your expertise will help reduce development-to-production cycle times, improve system reliability, and support the ongoing digital transformation initiatives of the bank. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a relevant university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, or demonstrate equivalent experience gained through extensive professional practice. You should have practical knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools such as GitLab CI, Ansible, or similar technologies like Puppet or Chef. Experience with Java-based web applications, Nginx configuration as a reverse proxy and load balancer, and proficiency with relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL are advantageous. Essential technical skills include a solid understanding of Linux environments, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CheckMK and Splunk. A proactive approach to learning new technologies, analytical mindset, reliability, and strong communication skills in German and English are crucial for success in this role. Responsibilities Manage and optimize existing infrastructure by implementing DevOps automation strategies and Infrastructure-as-Code principles to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.Oversee and refine Continuous Delivery pipelines for web applications, including maintaining and developing GitLab-CI pipelines and deployment procedures.Collaborate with software developers to support development cycles, reducing turnaround times from development to production through automation and process improvements.Monitor the health and performance of web applications, proactively addressing issues, patches, and vulnerabilities to ensure high availability and security.Assist in configuring and maintaining server environments, including web servers, load balancers, and databases, to support robust application deployment.Participate in the ongoing evaluation and integration of new tools and technologies to advance the bank’s digital infrastructure.Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and training within the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
