About The Role
We are seeking a technically versatile Java & COBOL Developer (m/f/d) to join our team, focusing on Prüfsoftware & Mainframe applications within our KV-Leistungsdienst (health insurance benefit service).
This hybrid role acts as a bridge between modern decentralized software solutions and our established HOST architecture.
You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and developing critical applications that are integral to our health insurance operations.
Working within an agile environment, you will collaborate closely with your team members in a decentralized squad, ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with regulatory standards such as DORA and VAIT.
Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and compliance of our insurance processes, helping us deliver seamless services to our customers while maintaining the integrity and security of sensitive data.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a successful degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification, such as a certified IT specialist, complemented by substantial professional experience in software development.
You possess strong expertise in mainframe development with COBOL and have hands-on experience querying and updating DB2 databases on the HOST platform.
Proficiency in backend programming with Java is essential, along with familiarity with frontend technologies like JavaScript or Angular being advantageous.
Experience with modern DevOps practices and container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable, or a keen interest to learn and grow in these areas.
You are characterized by a structured, organized approach to work, capable of managing complex interfaces and release cycles efficiently.
Excellent communication skills in German are required, and you should be familiar with agile working methodologies like Scrum.
A high awareness of quality and compliance standards, especially regarding data security and privacy, is critical.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues to oversee the technical and administrative management of Prüfsoftware systems, including Kolumbus DRG, ZABAS, and our CSV splitter.Ensure the smooth operation, timely updates, and maintenance of these applications to guarantee their reliability and performance.Support the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of our KV-Leistungsdienst (HOST-based) applications.Design, develop, and optimize interfaces and data structures on the mainframe, ensuring efficient data exchange and processing.Plan and coordinate software releases between decentralized Java-based systems and the HOST database environment, maintaining synchronization and minimizing disruptions.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as DORA and VAIT, particularly concerning data security and privacy standards.Implement structured testing procedures to uphold high software quality and reliability before deployment.
