Description

Join Us, and Ship Robots Weave was founded to build the robots we’d want to have in our own home. We believe the next generation of robotics will transform everyday life by enabling people to do more and to reclaim time to spend on what’s important. We also believe robots are in a sense like any other product: to matter, they have to ship. Our robots are already operating in real homes and businesses, giving us the opportunity to rapidly improve from real-world experience. With a growing team, strong customer demand, and capital for expansion, we’re entering an exciting stage of growth—and we’re looking for people with exceptional talent and standards to help bring home robotics to millions of households. The Role Our applications are our customers’ main touchpoint with Weave every day. They connect people to their robots, providing visibility into what the robot is doing, control over its behavior, and confidence that it’s operating safely and reliably. You’ll work closely with our engineering and UI/UX design teams to create experiences that seamlessly bridge the physical and digital worlds. From VR applications to iOS/Android applications our customers will interface with, you’ll create software that makes interaction with our robots feel intuitive and delightful. Responsibilities Own customer-facing applications: Build, and maintain customer- and public-facing applications and supporting backend across iOS, Android, VR, and web platforms, including our website. Build novel robot interfaces: Make increasingly capable, learned robot behavior feel intuitive, proactive, personalized, and responsive for customers as it operates across a growing range of tasks and environments. Develop rich 3D visualizations: Build interactive experiences that render maps, robot state, trajectories, obstacles, and other spatial information. Design for trust and security: Build authentication, authorization, device access, and data-handling flows that protect customer accounts and ensure only authorized users can interact with their robots. What You'll Bring Excellent application engineering experience: 3+ years building beautiful software (consumer preferred) for iOS, Android, web, or other customer-facing platforms. You’ll be familiar with the relevant frameworks: Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin, React, React Native, Flutter, or similar. Experience with VR application development: Experience building interactive 3D applications using some of the following technologies: SceneKit, RealityKit, Metal, Unity, Unreal, Three.js, OpenGL, Vulkan, WebGL, or similar graphics frameworks. Connected systems experience: Experience integrating applications with real-time APIs, streaming data, WebSockets, gRPC, or network-connected hardware. Security fundamentals: Familiarity with authentication and authorization, OAuth/OIDC, token-based access, secure API design, encryption in transit, and protecting customer data. Systems thinking: Experience integrating applications with real-time APIs, streaming data, or connected hardware. Strong product instincts: Passion for building polished user experiences that make sophisticated technology feel approachable. Nice to Have Geometry & visualization fundamentals: Comfortable working with coordinate frames, transforms, camera models, meshes, point clouds, or other spatial representations. Experience building software for IoT, robotics, smart-home, or other connected physical products.
