About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer / Security Architect (m/w/d) to join our team in a hybrid work environment based in Düsseldorf, NRW, Germany. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security architectures for our cloud-based services and applications. You will translate security requirements into actionable technical solutions, ensuring that security measures are effective and operationally viable. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding our digital infrastructure against emerging threats and vulnerabilities. You will work closely with internal teams and external security partners to continuously enhance our security posture, respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the security landscape of higher education IT infrastructure and to work on innovative projects with societal relevance. Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a completed degree in IT-related fields such as Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent professional training with a focus on security. You should have substantial experience in cybersecurity and the implementation of technical security measures within enterprise environments. Practical knowledge of security projects, incident analysis, and mitigation processes is essential. A solid understanding of IT security concepts, including network security, cloud security, and identity and access management (IAM), is required. Familiarity with standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz is highly desirable. You should possess a structured and analytical approach to work, with a keen interest in developing security solutions that are both effective and practical. Excellent communication skills in German and good proficiency in English are necessary for collaboration and documentation purposes. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement security architectures for cloud and application services that meet organizational requirements and industry standards.Translate security policies and requirements into concrete technical solutions and operational measures to ensure comprehensive protection.Participate actively in the analysis and resolution of security incidents, supporting escalation procedures and incident response teams.Ensure ongoing compliance with security standards such as ISO 27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz by implementing and maintaining relevant security controls.Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Identity & Access Management systems to ensure secure and efficient user access.Collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and security vendors to enhance the overall security architecture and response capabilities.Stay updated on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technological advancements to proactively adapt security measures.
