You'll join the Pub/Sub team, the technical backbone of the entire platform. This isn't a feature factory; it's a deep dive into core backend services, where you'll own the design, development, and optimisation of systems engineered for extreme reliability and performance. The work Design, develop, and deploy core backend services, relentlessly focused on low latency, high availability, and scalability.Drive new functionality and initiatives to scale and improve the Pub/Sub platform.Ship new features, implement performance improvements, and execute the essential maintenance that keeps planet-scale infrastructure reliable.Leverage AI tools for rapid planning, prototyping, and iteration, while retaining full ownership of technical decisions and quality. What You Bring Commercial, production experience with distributed systems, performance analysis, and large-scale infrastructure.Proven track record building or working with messaging queues and/or pub/sub systems at real scale.Extensive experience with a high-level server-side language; Node.js or Go preferred (a Go-heavy background, e.g. Samsara-style, maps well here).A strong, hands-on coder who can clear a deliberately tough technical bar.Practical experience using AI tooling to accelerate development, coupled with a clear understanding of where human rigour is indispensable.
