Description

We are seeking a Senior Technical Consultant with deep hands-on experience in Oracle, PL/SQL and Informatica to support a large-scale Oracle modernization initiative within the oil & gas sector. This role will work across legacy and modernized Oracle environments to understand existing data structures and business logic, analyze data and transformation discrepancies, and develop or modify SQL, PL/SQL and Informatica components. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on development skills with the analytical ability to reverse-engineer complex legacy systems and determine how data and business rules should be translated into the modernized environment. Key Responsibilities • Review, analyze and develop complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers and queries. • Review, troubleshoot and develop Informatica mappings, workflows and transformations supporting data integration and migration. • Analyze source data, target data and transformation logic across legacy and modernized Oracle environments. • Reverse-engineer legacy applications, database logic and Informatica workflows to understand how existing business rules have been implemented. • Compare data between legacy and target environments and investigate discrepancies, data quality issues and unexpected results. • Trace data through source systems, Informatica transformations, PL/SQL logic and target database structures to identify root causes. • Determine whether discrepancies are caused by source data, transformation rules, business logic, mapping issues or database logic. • Translate legacy business rules and transformation logic into requirements and technical solutions for the modernized environment. • Develop and modify SQL, PL/SQL and Informatica components required to resolve identified issues. • Perform data profiling, reconciliation, validation and testing to confirm that migrated and transformed data meets expected business outcomes. • Work closely with data engineers, application developers, analysts, architects and business SMEs to understand complex data and business processes. • Document technical findings, transformation rules, data lineage and remediation recommendations. Required Experience • 7+ years of hands-on Oracle development and data integration experience, ideally within complex enterprise environments. • Advanced expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, with demonstrated experience developing and troubleshooting complex database logic. • Strong hands-on Informatica development experience, including mappings, workflows, transformations and ETL troubleshooting. • Experience integrating Informatica with Oracle databases and complex source/target environments. • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data integration, data migration and transformation patterns. • Experience analyzing and reverse-engineering legacy database applications and business logic. • Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to trace discrepancies across multiple stages of a data pipeline. • Experience with large-scale data migration, application modernization or database modernization initiatives. • Strong understanding of relational data models, data quality, reconciliation and validation techniques. • Ability to work independently and move between technical analysis, troubleshooting and hands-on development. Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience in the oil & gas / energy sector and familiarity with complex operational or enterprise data environments. • Experience supporting modernization of legacy Oracle applications or databases. • Experience with master data, data consolidation or data quality initiatives. • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and migration architectures is an asset.
