About The Role We are seeking a technically versatile Java & COBOL Developer (m/f/d) to join our team, focusing on Prüfsoftware & Mainframe Applications within the KV-Leistungsdienst division. This hybrid role acts as a bridge between modern decentralized software and our proven HOST architecture, playing a critical part in maintaining and developing our future-proof applications in health insurance. The successful candidate will be embedded in an agile environment, working closely and collaboratively within a dedicated squad. Your responsibilities will include supporting our Prüfsoftware systems, ensuring their stability and performance, and actively contributing to the evolution of our core mainframe applications. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work at the intersection of legacy and modern technologies, gaining valuable experience in both domains while contributing to regulatory-compliant solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification such as an IT specialist with substantial professional experience in software development. You should have solid knowledge of mainframe development with COBOL and experience querying and updating DB2 HOST databases. Proficiency in backend programming with Java is essential, and familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript or Angular is advantageous. Experience with modern DevOps structures and container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes is preferred, or a strong interest in developing skills in these areas. You must demonstrate a structured and organized work approach, capable of coordinating complex interfaces and release processes. Excellent communication skills in German are required, alongside experience working in an agile environment (Scrum) and a high awareness of quality and compliance standards, including familiarity with DORA and VAIT regulations. Responsibilities Collaborate with colleagues to manage the technical and administrative aspects of Prüfsoftware systems (such as Kolumbus DRG and ZABAS) and our CSV splitter, ensuring their optimal operation.Ensure the smooth operation, timely updates, and ongoing maintenance of these applications.Support the maintenance, enhancement, and support of our KV-Leistungsdienst (HOST) applications, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.Design, develop, and optimize interfaces and data structures on the mainframe, ensuring efficient data exchange and system integration.Plan and coordinate releases across decentralized Java systems and the HOST database landscape, maintaining consistency and minimizing disruptions.Guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements such as DORA and VAIT, particularly regarding data security and privacy standards.Implement structured testing procedures to ensure high software quality and reliability.
