About The Role We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our dynamic team at Schwarz Digits. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our relational database systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, with practical experience in administering PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases. You will work closely with development and operations teams to implement best practices, troubleshoot issues, and support our digital infrastructure. Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should have a university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification. Hands-on experience in the administration and operation of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle, is essential. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies, along with experience in deploying and managing database services within containerized environments. Familiarity with automation, scripting, and monitoring tools is also desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are critical for this position. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities for this role include managing the lifecycle of relational databases, ensuring their availability, security, and performance. This involves installing, configuring, and upgrading database systems, as well as implementing backup and recovery procedures. You will monitor database health and optimize performance through tuning and indexing. Managing database security and user access rights is also a key part of your duties. Additionally, you will collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and troubleshoot database-related issues. Automating routine tasks using scripting and implementing containerized database solutions with Docker will be integral to your daily activities. You will also participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning to ensure the resilience of our data infrastructure.
