Providence is a full-time Pediatric Neurologist for comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of infants, children, and adolescents with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, and nervous system in Anchorage, Alaska.
The physician collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care and supports quality improvement, education, and research initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
Evaluate and diagnose pediatric patients with neurological disordersDevelop and implement individualized treatment plansTreat conditions including: epilepsy and seizure disorders, headaches and migraines, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, neurogenetic conditions, autism spectrum disorders (neurologic evaluation as appropriate), traumatic brain injurie, stroke and cerebrovascular disordersInterpret diagnostic studies such as EEGs, EMGs, nerve conduction studies, and neuroimagingProvide inpatient and outpatient neurological consultationsCoordinate care with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, developmental specialists, rehabilitation providers, and other healthcare professionalsMaintain accurate and timely medical documentationEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosisPromote adherence to treatment plans and medication managementProvide counseling and support resources to families managing chronic neurological conditions
Qualifications & Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degreeCompletion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics ResidencyCompletion of an accredited Pediatric Neurology FellowshipBoard-certified or board-eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child NeurologyUnrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of AlaskaDEA registration and controlled substance prescribing privileges, as applicableCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
