Summary Of Role GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking a new college graduate to support the 300mm semiconductor technology development integration team in Malta, New York, with ownership of Silicon Photonics process integration from development and qualification through customer engagement and production. The role will monitor technology performance and use experiments and technical data analysis to improve yield, process stability (Cp/Cpk), defectivity, quality, cost, and delivery. Essential Responsibilities Include Own a Silicon Photonics technology integration module, including project prioritization, coordination with the extended module team, definition of improvement experiments, and hardware disposition. Develop and qualify Silicon Photonics process flows and I/O integration solutions in collaboration with device, process module, packaging, test, reliability, yield, and manufacturing teams. Sustain and improve manufacturing technologies by analyzing inline and electrical data, detecting line issues, driving timely containment and resolution, reducing defectivity, and improving process stability, yield, and efficiency. Support new production technologies and customer milestones while driving cost reductions through process convergence, expense elimination, line and test yield improvement, and efficiency improvements. Other Responsibilities Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. Required Qualifications Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or related field from an accredited degree program. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing. Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) Preferred Qualifications Prior related internship or co-op experience. Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong planning & organizational skills Coursework, research, or project experience in Silicon Photonics, optics, semiconductor processing, device physics, or process integration.
