Job Title: Senior Java Enterprise Application Developer Employment Type: Contract 2 Years with option to renew additional years Contract Duration 2 Years (Start: ASAP With Notice to Proceed | End: 2 Years form Start Date) Work Location: Onsite (New York City Metro Downtown Office near WTC) Work Schedule Monday–Friday35 hours/week9:00 AM – 5:00 PMOccasional off‑hours work as required (approved overtime only) About the Role Senior Application Developer specializing in Java Enterprise Development including but not limited to migrating data and application workflows from legacy system to the new cloud hosted application on Salesforce. The ideal candidates must have a strong background in Java Enterprise programming, WebSphere 6, Enterprise Java Beans, Ruby scripting and DB2 Development. The Selected Candidate will provide ongoing maintenance and operational support for Java-based legacy enterprise system, to ensure continued reliability, stability, and business continuity. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the legacy application, resolving production issues, implementing necessary updates, and supporting end users while the organization evaluates and agrees upon a viable long-term replacement solution. The candidate will also assist with data analysis, system documentation, knowledge transfer, and planning activities to facilitate a smooth transition when a future replacement system is identified and approved. Key Responsibilities Looking for an experienced Candidate that will be expected to: • Support existing application using Java, Struts 2, Transact SQL, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, DB2, AIX, Crystal Reports, and Rational Application Developer. • Build data migration ETLs, data reconciliation routines to export out data from legacy to all formats needed for ingestion into the new system. • Support QA team to test the application logic and data migration from legacy to the new system. • Perform configuration management, continuous integration, version control, testing and document management with Rational Clear Case. • Apply code optimization techniques for performance. • Work closely with business analysts, subject matter experts and development teams in design, development, testing, implementation, and support of data and app logic migration. • Participate in the software testing process, including identification and resolution of defects. • Own full life cycle of development for a component of a product or system. • Provide technical leadership for enterprise-level Java Based information technology efforts. • Research, present and/or make recommendations on technical issues. • Explore new ideas and initiatives that encourage innovation. • Take inputs from reporting manager(s) and appropriately apply comments/ feedback. • Accurately estimate time required to complete development tasks. • Collaborate with diverse teams. • Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with a variety of people and achieve results. • Proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with team members. • Research, present and/or make recommendations on technical issues. • Delivered hands-on training and structured knowledge transfer sessions to equip staff with the skills and expertise needed to support ongoing business operations. • Developed and executed knowledge transfer plans, training personnel on processes, systems, and best practices to ensure business continuity. • Analyze project requirements and estimate development effort, timelines, and resource needs. • Break down complex features into manageable tasks and provide accurate time estimates. • Estimate effort for design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and documentation. Mandatory Qualifications (Screening Criteria) Minimum of 12 years of experience in a particular technical and/or business application, product, platform, methodology or skill set that is beyond the requirements addressed in the other labor categories. Preferred Skills/Experience BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred. Microsoft Certified Professional. 12 years of total experience in object-oriented design, development, testing and deployment of mission critical business applications, at least 2 of which are in a web/client- server environment. 8+ years of hands-on development experience with projects involving Enterprise Java development and DB2 database technologies for web, and web service development using good communication, presentation and leadership skills. Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams. Ability to work on multiple projects as team lead or team member/developer. Ability to understand business requirements and estimate for delivery commitments.
