Junior Data Engineer (KDB)

Type of contract: Employment contract Salary range: 8650 - 13850 PLN gross What will you do? You will join the AI Markets development team and work with KDB+/q, one of the most advanced time-series database technologies used in financial markets. The team delivers reporting, analytics, and management information for traders, quants, sales teams, senior management, and external clients. You will help develop high-performance data solutions, optimize access to large datasets, and support AI Markets capabilities through scalable analytics and APIs while collaborating with global teams across Europe, Asia, and North America. Your tasks Develop and optimize KDB+ processes and queries for low-latency and high-throughput applicationsBuild analytics and aggregation layers consumed by downstream systems, APIs, and AI/ML modelsExpose KDB+ data and analytics through APIs and servicesWork with AI and data engineering teams to prepare datasets for model training and executionImplement monitoring, alerting, and capacity management for KDB+ environmentsSupport resilience, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities for critical servicesCollaborate with traders, quants, sales teams, and product owners to deliver business solutionsEnsure compliance with operational risk, model risk, and data governance requirementsParticipate in data analysis, testing, and software delivery activities Your skills Analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex data engineering problemsStrong computer science fundamentalsKnowledge of functional programming concepts or experience with languages such as Clojure, Haskell, or ScalaInterest in vectorized programming approaches using Python, R, Matlab/Octave, or Wolfram MathematicaPassion for technology, automation, and continuous improvementInterest in large-scale data processing and basic statistical conceptsKnowledge of or willingness to learn Linux and client-server technologiesInterest in cloud infrastructure and AI/ML technologiesAbility to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutionsStrong collaboration and problem-solving skills Nice to have Knowledge of KDB+/qExperience with financial markets or trading systemsKnowledge of API developmentExperience with cloud platformsUnderstanding of monitoring and observability toolsExposure to AI/ML projects We offer Hybrid work in our client's office (Kraków) 8 days a monthWorking in a highly experienced and dedicated teamBenefit package tailored to your needs (medical, sport, lunch subsidy, life insurance, etc.)Online training and certificationsAccess to e-learning platformSocial events
