WE ARE LOOKING FOR SENIOR EMBEDDED ANDROID AUDIO ENGINEER
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Android Audio Engineer to join our Unikie team.
In this role, you will work on an international automotive project, developing and integrating Android-based audio software for a complex product platform.
You will work closely with both software and hardware teams, solving technical issues across the audio system.
The role is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on development and debugging and is comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

What You Will Do
Develop, integrate, and debug Android-based embedded audio platform software using C/C++Develop and troubleshoot Android Audio HAL and Android Audio Framework/AudioFlinger componentsConfigure and debug audio routing, audio policies, ALSA interfaces, and device/mixer configurationsIntegrate and troubleshoot Audio DSP and signal-processing functionality and its interaction with the Android audio stack and hardwareInvestigate and debug complex audio issues across Android Framework, Audio HAL, Linux/ALSA, DSP, and hardware layersWork hands-on with target hardware and test benches for implementation, debugging, measurement, and verificationIntegrate and support audio functionality across different product and hardware variantsPerform audio testing, validation, signal analysis, and root-cause investigation using logs, traces, audio dumps, and measurement resultsSupport platform bring-up, integration, release, and validation activitiesCollaborate closely with audio developers, embedded engineers, architects, hardware teams, and customer stakeholdersParticipate in software architecture, implementation, code reviews, and technical discussions Communicate technical decisions, progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly across teams
Required Qualifications
Strong professional experience with C and C++ in embedded or platform-level software developmentStrong hands-on experience with Android/AOSP platform-level development, specifically in the Android audio domainHands-on experience developing, integrating, or debugging Android Audio HALExperience with Android Audio Framework components, including AudioFlinger and related audio servicesHands-on experience with ALSA and Linux audio architecture, including audio routing, mixer controls, and device configurationPractical experience with Audio DSP or digital signal processing and its integration within an embedded audio systemExperience with automotive audio, infotainment, or a comparable embedded audio platformHands-on experience developing, debugging, and validating software on target hardware or test benchesExperience investigating audio issues across Android Framework, HAL, Linux/ALSA, DSP, and hardware layersExperience with audio testing, measurement, signal analysis, routing, or validationStrong debugging, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills, including working with logs, traces, audio dumps, and measurement resultsExperience with Git and modern software-development practicesAbility to work independently, take technical ownership, and operate effectively in a complex integration environmentStrong communication skills and a pragmatic approach to working with customer, software, hardware, architecture, and partner teamsFlexibility to support occasional time-critical integration, troubleshooting, or release activities across international teams and time zonesAbility and willingness to travel to the US when required by the projectGood spoken and written English
