Description

Invisipay is seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Integration Engineer to take technical ownership of integrating, stabilizing, and deploying our autonomous retail platform. The system combines RFID, computer vision, mobile authentication, payments, edge computing, networking, and automated access control. This role will bridge the gap between the existing product and reliable operation in live pilot stores. The successful candidate will diagnose integration issues, improve system accuracy, establish repeatable deployment procedures, and support commercial scaling. Success during the initial three-month engagement means establishing a reliable technical baseline, improving RFID and end-to-end system performance, documenting the architecture, supporting a successful live pilot deployment, and creating a practical roadmap for deployment into additional stores. Responsibilities Develop a complete understanding of Invisipay’s existing hardware and software architecture.Integrate RFID readers, antennas, cameras, edge-computing devices, access-control hardware, mobile applications, backend services, and payment workflows.Configure and optimize Zebra RFID readers, antennas, power levels, read zones, tag performance, and reader communications.Diagnose RF leakage, missed reads, duplicate reads, reflections, interference, and environmental performance issues.Improve the synchronization and reliability of RFID, computer-vision, and customer-session data.Deploy, test, and troubleshoot the complete system in the Halifax lab and live pilot stores.Diagnose networking, connectivity, device-communication, latency, and edge-to-cloud issues.Create repeatable installation, configuration, calibration, testing, monitoring, and recovery procedures.Build structured test plans covering individual customers, groups, product handoffs, environmental changes, and operational failure scenarios.Use logs, measurements, and controlled testing to identify root causes.Work closely with the founder and software team to resolve issues affecting transaction accuracy and system reliability.Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, installers, contractors, and pilot-store operators when required.Produce clear technical documentation to support consistent future deployments.Help move the platform toward greater than 98% transaction accuracy and repeatable commercial deployment. Qualifications 10 or more years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration, embedded systems, IoT, automation, robotics, industrial technology, or a comparable field.Strong hands-on experience integrating hardware, software, networks, and cloud or edge systems.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems across multiple technical layers.Experience with RFID, RF systems, antennas, sensors, access control, cameras, or related connected hardware.Strong understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, device addressing, firewalls, and remote connectivity.Experience working with Linux-based systems and edge-computing devices.Ability to interpret logs, isolate failures, conduct controlled tests, and document results.Working knowledge of APIs, databases, messaging protocols, and backend services.Ability to understand existing code sufficiently to diagnose integration problems and collaborate effectively with software developers.Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills.A practical and accountable approach to solving technical problems.Comfort working in an early-stage startup where priorities can evolve quickly.
