Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the position holder plans and designs temporary structures, oversees the production of models and drawings required for fabrication, and ensures compliance of the works during their installation on the construction site. They provide technical support during both the proposal and project phases. What you will do Participate, as needed, in preparing the schedule, general methods, and work sequences. Analyze various plans and specifications for the project’s permanent structures. Identify the best options for executing temporary works, aligned with planning and general methods, while anticipating site challenges. Design temporary structures (special formwork, pile-driving templates, platforms, walkways and temporary bridges, steel structures, cofferdams, temporary retaining systems, etc.). Be involved both during the proposal phase for preliminary design of temporary works and during the execution phase. Coordinate and produce, in collaboration with the modeler and technical coordinator, the models and fabrication drawings for temporary works. Prepare calculation notes for temporary structures. Participate in the internal review process for engineering documents. Sign and seal temporary works drawings. Provide technical support to the construction team for installation and compliance with methods. Certify the conformity of temporary works. Act as a relevant and credible technical resource for stakeholders. This role could be for you if you have Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction engineering. Have 2 to 7 years of relevant work experience in civil engineering projects and structural design. Possess a full professional engineering license from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Demonstrate strong proficiency in Advance Design or other finite element analysis software. Be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Project. Knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D, and/or SketchUp is considered an asset.
