Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description Join our dynamic Production Team! This role focuses on the design of tooling and fixtures for nuclear-focused products used in irradiation and treatment of diseases. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and providing ongoing technical and manufacturing support for sealed sources and transport packages used in the shipment of radioisotopes. Responsibilities Apply in-depth knowledge of engineering principles and standards.Lead or participate in the design, licensing, and manufacture of sealed sources and transport packages.Coordinate prototype manufacture and review engineering drawings.Prepare engineering analysis and calculations.Create test specifications, coordinate and execute testing, compile results, and generate reports.Design or modify production processes and equipment.Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they meet budgets, schedules, and functionality requirements.Stay informed about manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities for sealed sources.Provide task guidance and quality control for team members. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Preferably 3+ years of relevant work experience in mechanical engineering.Professional Engineer designation or eligibility for accreditation.Experience in design and engineering analysis of mechanical systems and components.Technical writing and documentation skills.Proven ability to exercise sound technical judgments on complex decisions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in the nuclear industry, especially in hot cell equipment design, troubleshooting, and testing.Familiarity with automated welding technologies and equipment.Exposure to radiation resistance of materials and components.Understanding of leak testing methods and technologies.Experience with SolidWorks, CAD software, and manufacturing engineering.Hands-on experience in an industrial environment.Curious and outgoing personality.Knowledge of the nuclear/pharma industry. Work Environment Work in a cubicle setting with 4 days on-site and one floating remote day. Involves lab work for prototyping and testing. Occasional overtime and travel may be required. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Kanata, ON. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
