Job Description What is the opportunity? The Staff, Software Engineer you will be a technical leader and engineer within our platform team, driving the development and evolution of our data platform and AI capabilities. You'll play a key part in the design and implementation of scalable solutions, raising the bar for engineering excellence. This is an opportunity to work on impactful, complex technical challenges that support RBC's strategic initiatives. What will you do? Design and implement full-stack solutions across Java/Kotlin, Python, React, PostgreSQL, and SnowflakeDesign and implement APIs in KotlinSystem Integration: Ensure seamless interoperability between Java/ Kotlin components; optimize multi-threading architecture for enterprise environmentsLead ETL pipeline development and optimization, ensuring data flows efficiently and reliablyArchitect and build scalable backend services and modern frontend applicationsChampion AI/LLM integration and prompt engineering best practices across the teamDrive adoption of best-in-class testing frameworks, DevOps practices, and SDLC disciplineParticipate in security and architectural design reviewsManage GitHub repositories, Maven builds, and CI/CD pipeline improvementsTroubleshoot production issues and drive reliability improvement What do you need to succeed? Must have: 5+ years of software development experience across multiple languages and frameworksDeep expertise in Java and Kotlin with demonstrated experience building enterprise scale systemsStrong understanding of Python Hands-on experience with backend data systems and data pipeline developmentDatabase experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake (or similar data warehouses)Strong Proficiency with DevOps tools (GitHub, Maven, CI/CD practices, containerization)Strong understanding of testing frameworks and SDLC best practicesHighly skilled with API design and microservices architectureExperience with multi-threading and enterprise-scale system designSkilled with frontend development with React/ modern JavaScript Nice to Have AI/LLM and prompt engineering experienceSecurity testing tools experience (Checkmarx, NexusIQ, or similar) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) What’s in it for you?
