The Federal Civilian business unit supports many customers spanning the federal, commercial, and nonprofit space.
Our customers include NASA, the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, the Library of Congress, Health & Human Services, and the FDIC.

Primary Responsibilities
Software Engineer III - Front End serves as an emerging technical leader within the engineering team.
With limited guidance, you will own complex development efforts while mentoring other engineers, improving engineering processes, and helping ensure successful delivery across the program.
Primary expectations include:
Design, develop, and maintain complex user-facing applications using Angular, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript while promoting reusable, scalable frontend architectureTranslate Figma designs into responsive, accessible interfaces using established Design System components while identifying opportunities to improve component reuse and consistencyLead development of reusable UI components and contribute to the evolution of the Design System across multiple applicationsDevelop, maintain, and improve automated UI testing using Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks while helping increase overall test coverage and application qualityEnsure frontend implementations meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and partner with UX and Accessibility teams to resolve complex compliance issuesEstimate development work, participate in technical planning sessions, and contribute to architecture and design discussions with minimal guidanceTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutionsParticipate in on-call rotations and help improve application monitoring, observability, and operational readinessMentor Software Engineers I and II through code reviews, technical guidance, paired programming, and knowledge sharingDrive improvements to engineering processes, coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and development best practicesCollaborate with backend engineers, QA, UX designers, Product Managers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycleParticipate in SAFe ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectivesSupport recruiting efforts by participating in technical interviews and evaluating coding assessmentsPresent technical solutions, implementation approaches, and lessons learned to internal engineering teams
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degreeMust meet federal suitability requirements and successfully pass a background investigation as a condition of employmentAdvanced experience developing modern web applications using Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3Experience implementing complex user interfaces from Figma or comparable design toolsExperience building reusable component libraries and working within enterprise Design SystemsStrong experience with automated UI testing using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworksStrong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and accessible frontend development practicesExperience working with RESTful APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend servicesExperience with Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development workflowsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex frontend issues across development, testing, and production environmentsExperience mentoring engineers and conducting technical code reviewsStrong communication and collaboration skills within Agile software development teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Python-based backend servicesExperience contributing to frontend architecture and technical design decisionsExperience optimizing application performance, accessibility, and maintainabilityExperience supporting cloud-hosted applications within AWS environmentsExperience working on large-scale federal or government technology programsFamiliarity with SAFe Agile development practices

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
