About the Role KNDS Deutschland is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the design, operation, automation, and continuous improvement of IT systems and tools supporting simulation software environments. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining CI/CD build pipelines across multiple software generations, improving monitoring solutions, and advancing virtualization and automation capabilities. You will work across DevOps, system administration, software deployment, infrastructure automation, and system architecture. The position also involves coordinating with multiple technical and business teams, supporting agile delivery processes, and ensuring the availability, scalability, stability, and quality of internal IT platforms and tools. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD build pipelines for simulation software across multiple software generations.Develop and optimize monitoring tools for simulation systems and infrastructure.Introduce and advance virtualization and automation solutions.Ensure the reliable operation, availability, stability, and continuous improvement of internal IT systems and tools.Define system requirements and develop system architectures and technical designs.Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and stability.Automate computer installation, configuration, software deployment, and system monitoring processes.Design and optimize DevOps processes and workflows.Define and implement technical architecture standards for complex IT and simulation environments.Coordinate collaboration between technical departments and serve as a central technical point of contact.Plan, moderate, and follow up on Sprint Planning and Sprint Review activities.Support successful achievement of sprint objectives and ensure timely delivery of work.Take responsibility for the quality and timely completion of technical deliverables.Potentially assume future technical leadership responsibility for a team of approximately 7–9 employees, including mentoring and employee development. Required Qualifications / Must-Have Qualifications A completed degree in a natural science discipline or a comparable qualification is required.Several years of professional experience in DevOps, CI/CD, virtualization, and IT system or server administration is required.Hands-on experience with computer installation and configuration automation, software deployment, and system monitoring is required.Strong knowledge of DevOps environments and experience designing and optimizing DevOps processes are required.Experience defining and implementing technical architecture standards is required.Professional experience with GitLab, Artifactory, Docker, Jenkins, Hyper-V, and VMware is required.Experience administering Windows and Linux systems is required.Strong understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, virtualization, software deployment, and IT operations is required.Knowledge of Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Grafana is required.Strong communication, conflict-resolution, time-management, and organizational skills are required.Must be able to work independently and demonstrate appropriate initiative and assertiveness.Fluent German and English language skills are required.Must be willing to undertake national and international business travel.
