About The Role We are seeking a technically versatile Java & COBOL Developer (m/f/d) to join our team, focusing on Prüfsoftware & Mainframe applications within our KV-Leistungsdienst division. In this hybrid role, you will serve as a vital link between modern decentralized software solutions and our established HOST architecture. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining and supporting our Prüfsoftware systems, such as Kolumbus DRG and ZABAS, and actively contributing to the development and support of our core HOST-based applications for health insurance claims processing. You will work within an agile team environment, collaborating closely with colleagues in your squad to ensure seamless operation, updates, and enhancements of critical systems. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification such as a Fachinformatiker with substantial professional experience in software development. You should have solid expertise in mainframe development with COBOL and experience in querying and updating DB2 HOST databases. Proficiency in backend programming with Java is essential, and familiarity with frontend technologies like JavaScript or Angular is advantageous. Experience with modern DevOps tools and container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is desirable, or a strong willingness to learn and grow in these areas. You are known for a structured and organized working style, especially when managing complex interfaces and release processes. Excellent communication skills in German are required, along with experience working within agile frameworks like Scrum. A high level of quality and compliance awareness, particularly regarding DORA and VAIT regulations, is highly valued. Responsibilities Collaborate with a team member to oversee the technical and administrative management of Prüfsoftware systems (e.g., Kolumbus DRG, ZABAS) and CSV splitters, ensuring their stability and performance.Ensure the smooth operation, regular updates, and maintenance of these applications to meet operational standards.Support the ongoing maintenance, development, and troubleshooting of our KV-Leistungsdienst (HOST) applications, contributing to their evolution and reliability.Design, develop, and optimize interfaces and data structures on the mainframe, ensuring efficient data exchange and processing.Plan and coordinate software releases between decentralized Java-based systems and the HOST database landscape, managing dependencies and minimizing disruptions.Guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements such as DORA and VAIT, focusing on data security and privacy standards.Implement structured testing procedures to uphold high software quality and reliability.
