Join a Global Automotive Industry Leader Monroe, part of DRiV/Tenneco, is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Product Development Technician to join our Engineering team in Clovelly Park. This exciting role combines prototype building, product testing, vehicle evaluation, and technical reporting, making it ideal for a qualified tradesperson or technician who enjoys problem-solving and working with automotive products. About the Role As a Product Development Technician, you'll support the development and validation of suspension products through prototype assembly, testing, vehicle evaluations, and technical analysis. Key responsibilities include: Building and assembling prototype suspension componentsConducting performance and endurance testing of shock absorbers and coil springsOperating specialised testing equipment (training provided)Performing measurements and inspections using precision toolsSupporting vehicle assessments, road testing, and product validation activitiesRemoving and fitting suspension components on development vehiclesPerforming wheel alignments and mechanical assessmentsLiaising with production teams and automotive dealershipsPreparing technical reports and maintaining accurate recordsSupporting quality, environmental, and safety standards About You To be successful, you will have: A Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter, Toolmaker, Mechanic or similar) or Engineering qualificationStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentsExperience using Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA current South Australian Driver's LicenceStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within a teamWillingness to work overtime when required Highly Regarded Experience within automotive manufacturing or suspension systemsPrevious sample building, assembly or testing experienceUnderstanding of aftermarket product development processesExperience with shock absorbers, springs, or automotive testing equipment What We Offer Opportunity to work with globally recognised automotive brandsHands-on involvement in product development and innovationComprehensive training on specialised testing equipmentSupportive and collaborative engineering teamOngoing development and training opportunitiesStable full-time position within a leading automotive manufacturer Apply Now If you're a mechanically minded professional looking to build your career in automotive product development, click Apply and submit your resume today.
