Role Overview Bitscopic is seeking a Senior Oracle Data Engineer for a full-time, permanent remote role. This position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable Oracle-based data pipelines, data models, and data infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, research, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with Oracle databases, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, performance tuning, and healthcare data environments. This role requires strong engineering judgment, production data experience, and the ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative setting. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, optimize, and maintain Oracle-based data pipelines and data integration workflows.Build and support ETL/ELT processes using Oracle technologies and related enterprise data tools.Develop complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL logic for data transformation, validation, reporting, and analytics support.Design and maintain Oracle data warehouse structures, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, packages, and performance-optimized data models.Integrate structured and semi-structured healthcare data from multiple clinical, operational, and research sources.Monitor data quality, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and improve reliability, performance, and observability across Oracle data environments.Support BI, reporting, analytics, and data science teams by delivering clean, trusted, well-modeled data.Tune Oracle queries, indexes, partitions, materialized views, and database objects for performance and scalability.Ensure secure and compliant handling of sensitive healthcare data, including protected health information.Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, product teams, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business and clinical requirements into reliable data solutions.Contribute to architecture decisions, engineering standards, documentation, and Oracle data engineering best practices.Mentor teammates and help strengthen data engineering practices across the organization. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience as a data engineer working in Oracle-based data environments.Advanced proficiency with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.Experience designing, building, and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines using Oracle technologies.Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, schema design, stored procedures, packages, views, indexes, partitions, and query optimization.Experience with Oracle data warehousing, dimensional modeling, relational modeling, and analytics-oriented data structures.Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems, APIs, flat files, databases, or healthcare data sources.Strong knowledge of data quality, validation, reconciliation, lineage, and production support practices.Experience supporting BI, reporting, dashboards, analytics, and downstream data consumers.Knowledge of data governance, security, privacy, and compliance practices, preferably in healthcare or another regulated industry.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, Oracle Analytics, or Oracle Enterprise Manager.Experience with healthcare data, clinical systems, federal health programs, or regulated health environments.Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, OMOP, or related healthcare data models.Experience working with sensitive data, protected health information, HIPAA-aligned environments, or compliance-driven data platforms.Experience improving Oracle performance through indexing, partitioning, query tuning, execution plan analysis, and database design improvements.Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to Oracle data engineering standards and architecture.
