Respond with Compassionate Action We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Boone, NC (or another approved on-site location). Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the role of Platform Engineer, you will have the opportunity to: Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.Design, manage, and optimize secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across on-premises and off-premises environments to support reliable ministry systems and applications.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible, while implementing continuous integration workflows for applications and infrastructure.Monitor and maintain cloud platforms, servers, networks, and security controls, including network firewalls, while troubleshooting infrastructure issues and partnering with Platform, Security, and Systems Administration teams to maintain availability and security.Partner with management, IT teams, and stakeholders to gather infrastructure requirements, coordinate technical projects, and ensure appropriate software, server, and cloud resources are available to meet organizational needs.Support infrastructure governance and continuous improvement by maintaining technical standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes while evaluating the cost and operational impact of new systems and infrastructure changes.Other duties as assigned. What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor's degree or university program certificate in a related field and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, or seven (7)+ years of experience in a related IT discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong experience with Linux systems administration and infrastructure automation, including Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools, along with Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripting.Strong knowledge of virtualization, containerization, and infrastructure technologies, including VMware, oVirt, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar platforms, with an understanding of network segmentation and firewall configuration.Experience implementing and monitoring infrastructure security and observability solutions, including automated web application security tools and logging, metrics, and monitoring platforms such as ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, and CollectD.12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
