Senior Infrastructure and Security Engineer

About Sedrus Sedrus is an early-stage wealth-tech startup building an agentic layer for wealth management back-office operations. Because our product interacts with sensitive financial and customer information, security and infrastructure need to be built into the foundation of the company from the beginning. We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure & Security Engineer to take our working MVP and evolve it into a secure, reliable, scalable production environment. What You'll Do You'll own the infrastructure and security foundations behind Sedrus, including: Authentication and authorization.IAM and least-privilege access controls.Secrets and credential management.Encryption at rest and in transit.Infrastructure as code.CI/CD and deployment pipelines.Application and infrastructure observability.Logging, monitoring, and alerting.Database infrastructure, migrations, and branching workflows.Backup, recovery, and operational resilience.Automated integration and end-to-end testing.Security hardening and vulnerability management. Our current environment includes AWS, Render, Neon PostgreSQL, GitHub Actions, and database branching, but we're looking for someone who will evaluate the existing architecture rather than simply preserve it. You'll have significant ownership over how the platform evolves. What We're Looking For 5+ years of infrastructure, platform, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering experience.Strong production experience with AWS.Strong experience with Docker and containerized applications.Infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform or equivalent tooling.Deep understanding of CI/CD and experience with GitHub Actions or similar systems.Strong understanding of cloud IAM, authentication, authorization, networking, secrets management, and encryption.Experience designing monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident-response workflows.Strong PostgreSQL and production database operations knowledge.Experience implementing automated integration and end-to-end testing as part of deployment pipelines.Ability to evaluate infrastructure tradeoffs and make pragmatic architectural decisions independently. Strong Plus Experience launching infrastructure for an early-stage SaaS or fintech product.Experience supporting applications that handle sensitive financial or customer data.Familiarity with SOC 2-oriented controls and security practices.Experience establishing security and infrastructure foundations before a dedicated security organization exists. We're looking for someone who understands that an early-stage company can't choose between shipping quickly and building securely. The job is to design infrastructure that allows us to do both.
