Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for technology and education.
This person will be responsible for leading architecture, design, and development for Barobo’s main web-based integrated learning environment.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a remote position.
Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of Davis, CA, where Barobo’s main office is located, or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities
Build, refine, and maintain the full-stack web application for the RoboBlocky platform (www.roboblocky.com)Collaborate with the executive team to translate business requirements into technical solutionsUtilize a variety of programming tools and languages, including AI tools, web development tools, database technologies, cloud services, and networking and security toolsIdentify technical and cybersecurity problems and develop solutionsAssist in monitoring and optimizing real-time product performanceRespond in a timely manner to fix bugs that have been identified, whether from internal or external sourcesIdentify technical problems and develop solutions, including for cybersecurityHelp to develop new standardized processes around Barobo’s software development lifecycle (SDLC)Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trendsWork in a fast-paced, agile environment to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutionsPerform other related duties as assigned in a team environment
Qualifications and Requirements
Passion for improving education through technologyBachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields3+ years experience in delivering full-stack web applications (front-end, back-end, and cloud hosting technologies)Significant working experience with PHP, Node.js, HTML, CSS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, nginx, and Linux, as well as front-end technologies (e.g., React) and cloud hosting technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)Significant experience with AI and cybersecurity techniques, tools, and best practicesStrong programming skills in Python and C/C++ (preferred)Strong communication and time management skillsStrong sense of urgency with a bias towards actionAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamMust be a US citizen
Salary and Benefits
Barobo offers a competitive total compensation package that includes a base salary, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, and health, dental, and vision insurance.Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $150,000, with an accompanying equity grant.
An individual’s base salary will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
